Świnoujście port expansion and infrastructure

In late July 2026, local authorities in Świnoujście, Poland, were engaged in negotiations over compensation for major port‑related investments on the city’s right‑bank. The Maritime Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście, together with gas operator Gaz‑System, faced pressure from residents of Świnoujście and nearby villages to deliver concrete local‑use improvements—such as modernised roads, sidewalks, public transport, noise reduction and recreational spaces—rather than broader tourist‑oriented projects like a proposed water tram.

A few days later, the Szczecin and Świnoujście Port Authority advanced a new technical concept for a beach‑access road after a previously planned €120 million roadway for the Warszów district was abandoned in early 2023. The new design, estimated at about 120,000 PLN for the concept phase, includes provisions for cars, tourist buses, municipal transit, cyclists and pedestrians, aiming to restore direct beach access lost when an LNG‑terminal road closed and to support upcoming expansions such as the Przylądek Pomerania container terminal.
