WiseTech Global share price volatility and regulatory probes
Overview
WiseTech Global Ltd (ASX:WTC) continues to face extreme stock price volatility driven by governance, regulatory, and personal conduct concerns. While the company’s flagship CargoWise platform maintains a dominant market position—used by 24 of the 25 largest global freight forwarders and 46 of the top 50 third-party logistics providers—the stock remains significantly down from previous highs.
In August 2026, shares initially saw a 25% rebound over a one-month period as management reaffirmed FY26 revenue guidance between US$1.39 billion and US$1.44 billion. However, this momentum was interrupted when shares fell more than 12% following news that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) executed a search warrant at the company’s premises. The ACCC is investigating alleged breaches of the Competition and Consumer Act regarding the supply of global logistics services and software. WiseTech has stated it intends to “fully cooperate” with the investigation.
Following the release of FY26 results, the stock experienced further volatility, losing approximately 13% of its value in two sessions. Despite this, shares saw a subsequent recovery, rising 5.13% to $41.58. By early September 2026, the stock had declined approximately 45% since the start of 2025 and nearly 60% over the last 12 months.
Despite the decline, WiseTech provided FY27 guidance suggesting revenue growth between 6% and 10%, with underlying EBITDA expected to rise by 12% to 21%. Profit margins are forecast to improve to a range of 49% to 51%. While some analysts maintain a bullish outlook with high price targets, others have issued hold ratings. This instability follows a long period of decline, with the stock losing nearly 70% of its value since allegations regarding co-founder Richard White’s personal life emerged in late 2024, alongside previous ASIC and Australian Federal Police investigations.
