World Restart a Heart Day activities in Greece

In October 2026, various educational and municipal entities in Greece participated in nationwide activities to mark World Restart a Heart Day. Led by the organization KIDS SAVE LIVES under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and the Panhellenic Medical Association, the initiative engaged thousands of students through experiential learning.

Central events included participation from 1,227 schools, with a major gathering at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition where students practiced chest compressions using improvised models. In Rhodes, municipal staff underwent training focused on cardiac arrest response and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), supported by a donation of an AED to the Municipality by the Association of Symiakoi of Rhodes.

Additional school-based activities, such as those at Kleitoria Primary School, utilized digital connections to link students with hundreds of other schools to learn essential first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
