WorldSBK technical regulation changes
Overview
The FIM Superbike Commission has approved a technical roadmap and regulatory updates for the WorldSBK championship. Immediate changes include new protocols for pit lane entry and exit.
Planned developments for 2027 involve the implementation of manufacturer-specific RPM limits and the transition to a single official fuel supplier. Additionally, the maximum noise limit will be reduced by 3 dB to 112 dB.
Looking toward the end of the decade, a new rank-based concession system is scheduled for 2028, and a significant technical shift will occur in 2030, increasing the maximum engine capacity for four-cylinder motorcycles to 1,200 cc.
