Wuchang: Fallen Feathers sequel in early development
Entities: Wuchang: Fallen Feathers · 505 Games · Xia Siyuan · Digital Bros · WUCHANG franchise
Overview
By March 2026 the action‑RPG Wuchang: Fallen Feathers had been played by more than five million people worldwide and sold over one million copies on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A launch peak of 131 000 concurrent Steam users was reported in July 2026, alongside mixed reviews and the disbanding of Leenzee’s core development team in late 2025.
In April 2026 Italian publisher Digital Bros acquired the franchise’s IP rights for roughly €4 million, adding the title to its 505 Games portfolio and signalling intent for future expansions. Late July 2026 505 Games and Digital Bros announced a development and global‑publishing agreement with Indolphinity, a newly formed Chengdu studio led by original creative director Xia Siyuan. The partnership provides €21.5 million in funding and establishes a wholly‑owned subsidiary in Chengdu to produce a sequel while preserving the IP’s cultural authenticity.
On 29 July 2026 505 Games formally confirmed the sequel, its funding and studio structure. The follow‑up is currently in early preparation, with no release window announced yet, as both parties aim to expand the franchise beyond the original release.
