WWF Urban Nature festival in Italy
Overview
The WWF is organizing the tenth edition of its ‘Urban Nature’ festival in Italy, scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026. The initiative aims to promote urban green spaces and their impact on biodiversity, human health, and well-being through informative stands in over 100 Italian squares.
Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of WWF Italia, the festival follows the theme ‘Nature Becomes Care.’ Activities include biodiversity walks, educational programs in schools, and meetings with youth in Rome. In Sant’Agnello, the event will utilize honey to demonstrate the importance of pollinators.
The festival supports the ‘Spazi Natura’ (Nature Spaces) Fund, which finances the creation of urban oases, hospital oases, and ‘Nature Classrooms.’ Additionally, the LIFE PolliNetwork project is participating to highlight the link between urban and rural habitats, aiming to restore 88 hectares of habitat across 10 Italian regions by 2030 to support bees, butterflies, and hoverflies.
