Overview

In October 2026, Microsoft announced several updates regarding its Xbox ecosystem, including new game releases and structural changes to its partner programs. Xbox Game Pass expanded its library with a significant wave of titles. Leading the October releases is Battlefield 6, arriving on October 13 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC members via EA Play. The game’s Season 5 update introduces new destructible maps, including the Vegas Strip and Area 51. Electronic Arts offered a free trial of Battlefield 6 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox through October 19, 2026. Additionally, the survival game Stranded Deep was available for free on Steam until October 19, with both Battlefield 6 and Stranded Deep offered at a 60% discount following their respective trial periods. On consoles, NBA 2K27 was made available for testing on Xbox for Game Pass subscribers. Other notable additions include the first-person soulslike Valor Mortis on October 13, Bluey’s Happy Snaps on October 15, Deep Dish Dungeon, Beyond These Stars, and Chained Beasts. Microsoft has since detailed a second wave of Game Pass additions scheduled through early November.
