Youth development and vocational initiatives in Chad
Overview
In Sarh, Chad, children aged 7 to 15 participated in a beadwork initiative at the Maison Euro Koul Art to fund their 2026-2027 school expenses. Under the guidance of Krata Koulngar Eugénie, students spent one month crafting items such as handbags, belts, and wallets to sell in local markets. Student leader Radjianouba Christelle noted that the project aimed to provide vocational skills and self-confidence while helping families cover costs for uniforms and school supplies.
Building on these efforts, the EuroKoul Art association expanded its programming to include entrepreneurship and marketing training for adolescents aged 8 to 17. This training is designed to help young artisans transform their manual beadwork skills into sustainable income sources through business management and product marketing.
Additionally, youth development efforts in Chad have expanded to Moundou, where the association ARC EN ZIK launched a Music Tech Hub. Supported by the French Embassy, this initiative provides eight youths with training in digital music production, including music theory and audio software, to decentralize technical skills from the capital.
