Youth programs and policy initiatives in Spain

Youth-oriented programs and policy initiatives continue to expand across several Spanish regions, focusing on personal development, civic engagement, and religious gatherings.

In Andalusia, summer programs reached a total of 1,498 participants through the Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud (IAJ), with engagement spread across Granada, Huelva, and Jaén. In Jaén, the Jaenícolas camp in Cazorla hosted approximately 30 young people aged 18 to 30, offering workshops on mental health, emotional well-being, and social skills, such as laughter therapy. In Huelva, 280 young people from Alicante participated in sessions at Finca Villaonuba, organized by the Marist Brothers of the Mediterranean Province, to promote healthy lifestyle habits through nature-based learning.

New initiatives for civic and spiritual engagement have also emerged. In Puente Genil, Jaén, the municipality is launching the PANUPO Youth Participation Academy. This Erasmus+ Youth project, coordinated by Asociación Europa 2020, works with municipalities including Cabra, Marmolejo, and Gines to provide structured opportunities for young people to participate in local decision-making.

Additionally, in Salamanca, fifteen young people from the Diocese of Segorbe-Castellón attended the JRC (Youth for the Kingdom of Christ) National Meeting from September 25 to 27. The event for individuals aged 17 to 35 included educational lectures on theology, psychology, and faith, alongside social activities.
