Zapopan businessman disappearance

Ricardo Cabezas Talavera, a 45‑year‑old real‑estate entrepreneur, vanished on 30 July 2026 while driving a beige Fiat 500 in the El Batán neighbourhood of Zapopan, Jalisco. Initial reports placed his last sighting near Aldoma street around 17:30, and a message sent from his phone at 19:00 said he was “very busy.” The device lost signal shortly after, with the final recorded ping at about 21:00.

The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office and the Comisión Nacional de Búsqueda issued a National Alert and opened an investigation. By early August, authorities had recovered no new information on his whereabouts or the vehicle, and the search continued with public appeals.

In the days that followed, Cabezas Talavera’s family staged protests demanding a faster response. Investigators noted unusual financial activity on his accounts and credit‑card transactions after his disappearance, but no arrests or rescue requests have been reported. The case remains open as officials maintain the search effort.
