Zenica-Doboj Canton police capacity expansion
Overview
The Zenica-Doboj Canton is implementing measures to strengthen its law enforcement capabilities through infrastructure development and personnel recruitment.
In early September, the Special Police Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially opened new facilities in Tešanj. Prime Minister Nezir Pivić reported that the government has invested over 30 million KM in security over the last three years, describing it as the largest investment in the sector in 20 years.
By late September, the Ministry began physical and motor skill testing for 105 new police positions, including 100 officers and five junior inspectors. Following initial assessments, 517 candidates proceeded to testing at a stadium in Zenica. Police Commissioner Admir Gazić noted a current shortage of more than 450 officers. To maintain transparency, the recruitment process is being documented via audio and video.
