Zhongji Innolight Hong Kong IPO and Buyback
Entities: Huichen Asset Management · Hong Kong Stock Exchange · Zhongji Innolight · InnoLight Technology · Shenzhen Stock Exchange
Overview
In late July 2026 Zhongji Innolight moved from filing a confidential prospectus to officially launching a record H‑share IPO in Hong Kong. The syndicate led by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, CICC and GF Securities, with participation from Citigroup, HSBC and others, sold about 54.5 million shares at an offer price of HK$980 per share, raising roughly HK$53.4 billion (≈US$6.8 billion), the second‑largest Asian offering of the year.
At the same time the company announced a 12‑month A‑share buyback on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, targeting ¥40‑80 billion and priced no higher than 150 % of the 30‑day average price before board approval. The programme was disclosed after the A‑share fell 15.7 % to ¥908, and all repurchased shares will be allocated to equity‑incentive and employee‑stock‑ownership plans, with any unused portion cancelled after three years.
Proceeds from the IPO are earmarked for 35 % research and development, 30 % global capacity expansion, 15 % strategic investments and acquisitions, and 10 % working capital. Zhongji supplies optical transceivers for AI data centres and derived about 62 % of its Q1 revenue from the United States. Analysts note that geopolitical tensions around Chinese technology firms remain a risk.
