Zijin Longking electric autonomous mining truck launch
Overview
Zijin Longking has unveiled the ZL230E (also known as LK350E), a massive fully electric mining truck designed for open-pit mining operations. Launched in Longyan, Fujian province, the 350-ton vehicle features a net payload capacity of 230 tons.
Developed in collaboration with the Australian autonomous mining technology company EACON, the truck integrates advanced electric powertrains with autonomous driving capabilities. It is powered by 800 kW independent electric motors on its rear drive axles and utilizes a 1,400 kWh battery pack. To minimize downtime, the vehicle features an ultra-fast charging architecture capable of charging from 10% to 90% in 25 minutes.
The integration of EACON’s cloud-based fleet management and autonomous technology allows the truck to navigate complex mining environments without a driver, aiming to increase operational efficiency and safety.
