As a precaution, authorities evacuated seven nearby buildings, displacing approximately 30 residents. The Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched a judicial investigation, resulting in the detention of a construction architect, an employer, and a heavy machinery operator.

A new incident has been reported involving a firedamp (methane gas) explosion at a private mine in the Gelik district of Kilimli. This explosion resulted in at least three deaths, including Cengiz Bürükbaşı and Recep Çolakoğlu, and left five workers injured. Two of the injured workers were reported to be in critical condition and intubated due to burns. Local political leaders have called for investigations into mining safety and ventilation infrastructure following the disaster.
