LEGO Group reports record H1 2026 revenue and profit growth

The LEGO Group has reported record-breaking financial results for the first half of 2026, driven by a 21% increase in revenue to DKK 41.9 billion and a 32% surge in net profit to DKK 8.6 billion. This growth significantly outpaces the global toy market and competitors such as Mattel and Hasbro, allowing the company to gain market share.

Key drivers of this success include strong demand for licensed themes like Star Wars, Formula 1, and Pokémon, as well as collaborations related to the FIFA World Cup. The company is also successfully expanding its reach among adult collectors through specialized lines like Botanicals and Technic. CEO Niels B. Christiansen noted that the company is leveraging human creativity over AI for product design, though it uses AI for administrative tasks.

LEGO is reinvesting its profits into long-term growth and sustainability. Major initiatives include expanding manufacturing capacity with new factories in the US and Vietnam, acquiring 29 LEGO and LEGOLAND Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments, and investing in renewable energy, such as a large-scale solar park in Billund. The company is also transitioning toward more sustainable and recycled materials for its products.
