Pague Menos launches image recognition campaign for discounts
Pague Menos, Brazil’s second-largest pharmacy chain, has launched the ‘Pague Menos Scan’ campaign, utilizing image recognition technology to offer consumer discounts. Through a dedicated campaign website, customers can use their smartphone cameras to scan the phrase ‘Pague Menos’ wherever it appears—including on product packaging, promotional flyers, advertisements, delivery apps, billboards, or even the storefronts of other retailers.
Once the text is recognized in real-time, the tool directs users to exclusive offers on the company’s e-commerce platform. These benefits include product discounts, participation in specific promotional mechanics, and special conditions for services provided at the company’s pharmaceutical clinics. Developed by the agency Lola/TBWA, the initiative aims to leverage the brand's name as a tool for consumer interaction and savings.
The Pague Menos and Extrafarma network operates over 1,695 stores across all 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District, employing approximately 27,000 people.
