Gold exploration in Western Australia continues to yield high-grade results from multiple projects.

Avira Resources reported high-grade gold intercepts at the Mt Cattlin Gold Project, specifically at the Maori Queen prospect. Maiden reverse circulation drilling confirmed mineralization across a 650m strike length, including a 7m intercept at 6.11g/t gold. CEO Andrew van Bentum noted that the results suggest the ‘New Zealand Trend is emerging as a significant mineralised corridor’. Drilling is currently paused for winter weather, with plans to resume in September to test further extensions.

Astral Resources has also reported significant findings at its Mandilla gold project through the Theia Deeps program. Deep diamond drilling identified mineralization extending beyond previous resource estimates, including an intersection of 52.75 metres at 4.67g/t gold, which contained narrow high-grade zones such as 0.34 metres at 477g/t gold. In response, the company expanded its drilling program from 3,000 metres to 11,000 metres to test for depth extensions and strike mineralization.

Subsequent in-fill drilling at the Theia Stage 1 open pit, totaling 4,456 metres of reverse circulation holes, validated geological and Mineral Resource models with a weighted average grade of 1.54g/t gold. Notable intercepts included 7 metres at 10.4g/t gold and 1 metre at 219g/t gold. Managing Director Marc Ducler stated these results reinforce the ‘high-grade nature of the altered zones’ and the potential economic value of the early mining inventory.
