Overview

Law enforcement in Vietnam has conducted various operations targeting narcotics use and distribution. In Da Nang, a 45-day intensive crackdown from August 5 to September 20 concluded with record-breaking enforcement numbers. In Nhon Trach Ward, Huynh Van Thanh, Phan Nhut Hao, and Pham Tuong Vy were arrested for organizing and harboring illegal drug use following incidents on August 31 and September 8. In Trang Dai Ward, authorities discovered five individuals who tested positive for methamphetamine, leading to emergency arrest orders for Le Cong Yen Thanh, Le Tan Hieu, Le Van Minh, and Le Xuan Hung for “organizing the illegal use of narcotics.” In Thong Nhat Commune, police arrested several individuals, including N. T. T. N., for aiding in drug sales. Recent operations have expanded to Hanoi, where authorities dismantled a drug ring, arresting 22 individuals and seizing over 25 grams of methamphetamine. During a residence search, police found three people using drugs on a rooftop; one suspect, Nguyen Quoc Hung, is a social media personality known as ‘Son Thuy Khue’. In Da Nang, police in the Hoi An Dong ward uncovered a trafficking ring involving Nguyen Thi Hue and Phan Thi Huyen Trinh. In Ho Chi Minh City, police processed over 6,400 drug-related violations in the first ten months of 2026.
