Aleksandar Stankovic transfer interest and playing time

Overview

Liverpool FC has reportedly maintained interest in Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, having previously explored a potential player exchange involving Curtis Jones. While Liverpool is currently satisfied with its midfield depth, the club may reassess its requirements next year, keeping the 21-year-old Serbian on its shortlist.

Stankovic’s future at Inter Milan has been characterized by a struggle for playing time since his 23 million euro move from Club Brugge. Despite limited minutes under manager Cristian Chivu, Stankovic has expressed “no regrets” regarding his decision to stay at Inter. While a January loan move was previously considered a possibility to ensure development, recent reports suggest he may see increased minutes due to injuries to teammates, including Hakan Calhanoglu and Curtis Jones.

Reflecting on his career, Stankovic has described his return to Inter Milan as a “family matter and a lifelong dream,” while crediting his professional maturity to his time at Lucerne and Club Brugge. He also shared emotional tributes to the late Siniša Mihajlović, whom he described as a “second father to his family.”
