Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced updates and lore
Overview
Following the July 2026 launch of the remake Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, players discovered a deleted cutscene within the game files. Recovered by YouTube user Sliderv2, the minute-long sequence depicts Edward Kenway in a London tavern approximately five years after his Caribbean adventure, around 1727. The footage suggests Kenway returned to England with his daughter, Jennifer, to commit to the Assassin Brotherhood. The scene also features a meeting with Adéwalé and mentions the character Miko, providing narrative links to Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry and Assassin’s Creed Rogue.
In response to community interest, Ubisoft announced a major content update scheduled for release on October 27, 2026. This update introduces a New Game Plus mode, allowing players to retain most tools, upgrades, weapons, and materials across up to five cycles of increasing difficulty. The update also adds a “Nightmare” difficulty setting, new takedown animations, Easter eggs, pet skins, and a new currency called Escudos for exclusive cosmetic items.
Additionally, Ubisoft Head of Content Jean Guesdon is scheduled to host an event on October 29, 2026, to discuss the future of the franchise. While no major new projects are expected to be revealed, the presentation will provide progress updates on titles currently in development, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Assassin’s Creed Invictus.
