Founded in 1976 by Antarctic explorer Gustavo Giró Tapper, the center has served as a pioneer for nature and winter sports in the province, hosting activities such as cross-country skiing and snowcat tours. During the anniversary, the Municipality of Ushuaia presented a recognition plaque to the Giró family for their role in establishing the city as an international destination for adventure and nature-based experiences.
