In July 2026, the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá launched the “Tejiendo el Territorio” program, partnering with Colegio Cundinamarca in Ciudad Bolívar to produce handmade ecological fanzines that teach students and their communities about urban flora, pollinators and biodiversity. This partnership, scheduled to run from August 2026 to February 2027, focuses on the maintenance, gardening, and urban agriculture of green spaces surrounding these commercial hubs. Planned actions include planting species such as pink chicalás and azaleas to create sustainable landscapes. Concurrently, the Garden continues to promote its Tropicario, a 2,700-square-meter greenhouse facility designed to recreate diverse Colombian ecosystems for scientific dissemination and tourism.
