Bolivian economic and infrastructure development

Overview

Bolivia is pursuing various infrastructure and economic development initiatives at both the municipal and national levels. In Cochabamba, Mayor Manfred Reyes Villa has introduced a development package focused on economic reactivation and transportation modernization. This includes projects such as the South Costanera Avenue, the ‘Integration Tunnel’ toward Sacaba, and the construction of new markets and an auditorium to boost tourism.

At the national level, President Rodrigo Paz Pereira announced plans to secure between $6 billion and $7 billion through an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other multilateral organizations to address fiscal pressures.
