Brazil 2027 school enrollment and scheduling

Overview

Educational authorities across various Brazilian states and municipalities have begun establishing procedures for the 2027 academic year. In Mato Grosso, the State Secretariat of Education (Seduc-MT) has extended the deadline for students entering the 1st year of High School to select Professional and Technological Education (EPT) courses until October 23. The secretariat has also released the preliminary answer key for the 2027 Military State Schools selection process, with an appeals period open until October 21. In Minas Gerais, the SUCEM system has opened registration for students entering primary and secondary education, as well as those seeking transfers or returning to studies. Registration is free and must be completed online via the official SUCEM portal, though assistance is available at participating schools for those without internet access. The process remains open until November 13, 2026, and covers Elementary School, High School, and Professional Education. For children entering the first year of Elementary School, they must be six years old by March 31, 2027. Results for student placement are expected on December 15, 2026, after which families must confirm enrollment within specific deadlines. Municipalities including Araxá, Divinópolis, Pará de Minas, and João Monlevade are participating in this process. In Cambé, registration for early childhood education, elementary school, and Adult Education (EJA) began on October 7 and is scheduled to conclude by November 13. Parents must provide documentation such as birth certificates, identification, proof of residence, and vaccination records. In Rio de Janeiro, the state government has launched a renewal period for students wishing to remain in their current school, course, and shift via the ‘Matrícula Fácil’ website. Requests to change courses or shifts will open on November 4, depending on vacancy availability.
