Under Law No. 15,077/2024, these real gains must respect growth limits established by the fiscal framework. In August 2026, regional wage discussions emerged as the Rio de Janeiro State Government reviewed a proposal for a 2026 regional minimum wage adjustment, following claims from workers of a 50% loss in purchasing power since 2018. Meanwhile, Social Security Minister Wolney Queiroz expressed support for linking social assistance benefits to the minimum wage to ensure real gains for retirees.
