Brightstar Resources Sandstone gold project updates

Overview

Brightstar Resources has reported significant developments regarding its Sandstone gold project in Western Australia. Initially, the company announced an interim resource update increasing the project’s resource to 2.9 million ounces of gold, consisting of 69 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.3 g/t gold.

Subsequent deep drilling programs at the Two Mile Hill site have further expanded the project’s potential. Results from a diamond hole exceeding 1,000 meters intersected over 500 meters of mineralised tonalite, leading to the identification of a new deep extension known as the ‘Shirvington Zone’. Updated geological modelling indicates the host intrusion is wider than previously thought, estimated at over 300 meters horizontally at a depth of approximately 700 meters. Managing director Alex Rovira stated that the intersection of thicker mineralised tonalite and visible gold presents “material upside to the current Mineral Resource envelope”.

Recent drilling at the Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit has yielded high-grade intercepts. One drill hole produced a 225.7-metre intersection grading 3.11 g/t gold from 284 metres, which included a high-grade core of 19 metres at 24.3 g/t gold and a 1-metre section at 449 g/t gold. A second hole returned a 194-metre intersection at 2.10 g/t gold from 286 metres.
