Bulgarian Olympic Committee infrastructure and strategy
Overview
The Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) has engaged in efforts to modernize its infrastructure and strategic partnerships. In August 2026, a BOC delegation led by President Vesela Lecheva visited the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne to discuss athlete funding, youth programs, and digitalization.
On September 30, 2026, President Lecheva and Secretary General Danail Dimov officially received the keys to the organization’s new headquarters in Sofia. Following a Council of Ministers decision, the BOC has been granted the use of the building—formerly the Iranian Embassy—for a 10-year period free of charge. The facility is located at the corner of Vasil Levski Boulevard and Ivan Vazov Street, near the National Stadium Vasil Levski.
The BOC intends to transform the site into an ‘Olympic House’ to serve as a central hub for sports federations. Plans for the premises include internal renovations and spatial reorganization to accommodate seminars, working groups, an Olympic library, and a museum of the Olympic movement.
