Central Java Regional Student Sports Week 2026

The 2026 Central Java Regional Student Sports Week (Popda Jateng) commenced with 7,515 student athletes representing 35 regencies and cities. Following the conclusion of the competition, Jepara Regency secured fifth place in the overall standings, earning a total of 25 gold, 16 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Karate was a notable discipline for Jepara, which earned nine gold medals and the title of “karate general champion.” Officials attributed this performance to long-term training and participation in competitions since late 2025.

In basketball, the Surakarta men’s team won the gold medal by defeating Semarang with a final score of 59-47 at the Sahabat Arena Semarang. This victory was cited as a result of the city’s ongoing athlete development programs.
