A series of criminal investigations and arrests involving the alleged sexual abuse of minors by relatives have been reported across various regions in Greece.

In Crete, a 59-year-old man was taken into custody following allegations that he abused his 14-year-old goddaughter. Authorities reported that the abuse may have begun in 2016 and noted the discovery of child pornography on the suspect’s mobile phone.

In Volos, a 41-year-old male relative was arrested after a 9-year-old girl reported abuse occurring at a family home. While the suspect denied the allegations, the victim received medical and psychological support following the report.

In Corfu, a 51-year-old man was imprisoned after forensic examinations and testimony from the victim’s brother indicated the repeated abuse of his 8-year-old granddaughter. The investigation also revealed allegations that the suspect had abused the child’s mother in Albania between 2010 and 2015.
