Chilean educational initiatives and enrollment
Overview
In Chile, the government has introduced measures to support student development and accessibility. The Ministry of Education launched a program to implement 24 sensory rooms across 21 communes in the La Araucanía region, utilizing an investment of over $329 million to improve inclusion and learning for students with sensory needs. The first room was inaugurated at the CEDI We Nepen in Loncoche, which received over $13 million for civil works and specialized equipment.
Building on these efforts, authorities launched the ‘Todos al Jardín’ campaign to manage the 2027 enrollment process for the public early childhood education network. The digital application period runs from October 19 to November 27, covering institutions such as Junji, Fundación Integra, and Local Public Education Services (SLEP). The initiative, led by the Undersecretariat of Early Childhood Education, aims to increase enrollment and bring educational offerings closer to families to promote regular attendance.
In the Los Ríos Region, a regional launch of the campaign took place in Valdivia involving the Undersecretariat of Early Childhood Education and regional authorities. The process targets children between 3 months and 4 years of age, allowing families to apply online via Junji and Integra portals or seek in-person assistance at local facilities and citizen service offices.
In the La Araucanía region, the initiative offers over 10,000 available spots for 2027. Additionally, the Pillancito Kindergarten in Villarrica, managed by Junji, has obtained official State Recognition following the regularization of its legal status and validation of its infrastructure. This facility has benefited from over $364 million in conservation works since 2022. Other regional updates include availability in Arica and Parinacota, a unified digital platform in Aysén, and expanded service hours in Magallanes.
