Chuseok markets in South Korea

Overview

The ‘2026 Chuseok Direct Transaction Market’ was held on September 16 at the Gangnam District Office parking lot. The event, designed to promote urban-rural coexistence and support local producers, featured 60 booths operated by 79 production farms and 39 local governments.

On the morning of the event, the Gangnam District Council, led by Chairman Lee Jae-jin, visited the market to meet with residents and producers. The council emphasized the importance of maintaining exchange platforms that connect urban areas with rural regions.

In addition to high-quality agricultural, fishery, and livestock products, the market included a food market and traditional activities such as lucky bag draws and games. Participating regions with exchange ties to Gangnam included Yangpyeong-gun, Dangjin-si, Yanggu-gun, Chilgok-gun, Yeongju-si, and Naju-si.
