ClubMed Lifestyle Group strategic expansion

Overview

ClubMed Lifestyle Group, a subsidiary of Fosun International, has initiated several strategic expansion and industry engagement efforts.

In late August 2026, the group filed an application to list on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company, which operates 69 high-end resorts globally, intends to use the proceeds from the initial public offering to fund global network expansion, product upgrades, digitalization, and the development of AI capabilities. The group aims to increase its resort count to approximately 85 by 2030, with a long-term goal of reaching 100 resorts by 2035.

Recent filings indicate the group aims to raise more than 500 million USD through the IPO. To manage growth without excessive debt, the company will utilize an ‘asset-light’ operating model focusing on management and lease agreements. This strategy targets expansion in the Alps, the Mediterranean, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. Specific upcoming projects include Club Med Borneo in Malaysia later in 2026, followed by openings in the US, Senegal, and Brazil in 2027, and further locations in Canada, Italy, Benin, Thailand, Indonesia, and Oman through 2029.

Despite the public offering, parent company Fosun intends to retain majority voting rights and control over the group. This move follows periods of stagnating revenue and shifting profitability metrics compared to hospitality competitors. The company, which was ranked as the world’s largest all-inclusive resort brand by revenue in 2025, reported revenue growth from EUR 1.86 billion in 2023 to EUR 1.95 billion in 2025.

Shortly thereafter, the group joined the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as a global member. Xiaoliang Xu, CEO of Fosun International and Chairman of ClubMed Lifestyle Group, indicated that the membership would allow the group to engage with industry leaders to explore collaboration and future developments.
