Overview
Authorities in Vietnam have conducted separate enforcement actions against individuals for infringing on industrial property rights through the sale of counterfeit luxury goods.
In Ho Chi Minh City, police arrested Tran Trung Du, Director of Dwatch Trading Service Company Limited, after discovering counterfeit watches and jewelry from brands such as Rolex, Hermes, and Cartier. The seized merchandise, which lacked proper documentation, was valued at over 2.5 billion VND.
In Hung Yen province, local police and market management officials prosecuted Nguyen Van Duong, owner of the Duong Dolce store. An inspection in September revealed a quantity of counterfeit Hermes, Dior, Gucci, and Adidas products valued at approximately 222,600,000 VND. Legal proceedings for the Hung Yen case are ongoing.
