Cultural and literary initiatives in Croatia and Montenegro
Overview
Regional cultural and literary activities have been highlighted through various initiatives in Croatia and Montenegro. In Croatia, the Croatian Library and Reading Room completed its Knjignik summer program, which utilized children’s theater and workshops on the Glagolitic script to preserve heritage. The ‘Poezija to go’ project also continues its long-standing mission to promote poetry reading among youth.
In Montenegro, literary workshops such as ‘Bajka o duhu’ have been conducted to encourage creative writing and reading among young people.
Complementing these grassroots and local efforts, the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media has announced a public call for cultural funding for the upcoming year. This initiative seeks to support a wide range of sectors, including museum and library activities, book publishing, performing arts, and the protection of archaeological heritage, as well as the construction and equipping of cultural infrastructure.
