Cultural heritage and arts promotion in Marche and Tuscany
Overview
Cultural heritage and design continue to be highlighted in the Italian regions of Marche and Tuscany through educational initiatives, museum tours, and performing arts festivals.
In Marche, the Borghi della Cultura program organized natural-color workshops in Serra de' Conti during August 2026. These included sessions on ecoprint techniques on linen led by expert Giuditta Canuto, as well as indigo dyeing and shibori. The region is also hosting various festivals, such as the RipaMagic magic and illusionism festival in Ripatransone and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Additionally, the Belcanto ritrovato festival, which focuses on 19th-century Italian composers, is scheduled for late August in Fano, while the ‘Teatro della Stoppia’ outdoor event will debut in San Benedetto del Tronto, combining music, literature, and yoga in an environmentally themed setting.
In Tuscany, culture assessor Cristina Manetti conducted tours of heritage sites to promote appreciation outside major urban centers. These visits included the Museo Leonardiano in Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci’s birthplace in Anchiano, and the UNESCO-listed Villa Medicea in Cerreto Guidi, highlighting the region’s historic art, science, and Medici architecture.
