The Czech Republic is implementing significant wage adjustments, including a minimum wage increase to 24,900 CZK gross per month effective January 2027. By the second quarter of 2026, average gross monthly wages rose 6.4% year-on-year to 51,966 CZK, a real increase of 4.3%. However, the Czech Chamber of Commerce has warned that these increases may become unsustainable if they are not matched by rises in labor productivity. Zdeněk Zajíček, president of the Chamber, noted that if wage costs grow faster than productivity, it could hinder future economic growth by reducing funds available for modernization and technology. Additionally, the labor market remains strained by a mismatch between supply and demand for skilled workers. In a related trend, the cost of used vehicles has risen, with the average price reaching 325,581 CZK, or approximately 6.5 average gross monthly wages, up from 6.0 wages in 2021.
