Death of triathlete Rachel Furtado in Brasília

However, she suffered subsequent cardiac arrests at the hospital and did not survive.

Following her death, friends and family gathered at Parque da Cidade to honor her memory by planting an ipê tree at one of her favorite locations within the park. Medical experts noted that the event highlights the necessity of preventive cardiovascular screenings, stating that physical activity does not provide immunity to heart issues and can occasionally trigger complications.
