Deezer implementation of AI music filtering

Music streaming platform Deezer has announced plans to launch a global feature by the end of 2026 that allows users to filter out music entirely generated by artificial intelligence. This new functionality will act as an on-off toggle, enabling users to exclude AI-generated tracks, albums, and artist profiles from their search results and streaming experiences.

This development expands upon existing measures implemented by the company since 2025, which used detection tools to exclude synthetic content from editorial playlists and algorithmic recommendations. Deezer utilizes a proprietary detector to identify tracks from tools such as Suno, Udio, or Riffusion, reporting a 99.8% accuracy rate.

The initiative addresses a significant influx of synthetic content; Deezer reports receiving approximately 90,000 AI-generated tracks daily, sometimes accounting for over 50 percent of new uploads during peak periods. While AI music represents only 1% to 3% of total streams, the company noted that up to 85% of AI-generated streams were identified as fraudulent attempts to siphon royalties. Since early 2025, Deezer has removed over 42 million synthetic tracks and 14 million albums to combat such streaming fraud.
