Police in Depok uncovered a dismembered male body on 4 August 2026, identified as 51‑year‑old Kunaefi. The suspect, 26‑year‑old Saepul (also known as Saepullah), was arrested on 5 August while attempting to flee to Banten. Digital investigations showed Saepul was active in several Facebook groups for gay men, posting introductions such as “Salam kenal semuanya, nyari bapak angkat” and participating in groups named Bapak Bapak Ganteng, Gay Paneglang, Gay Bogor and Gay Depok.

Before his arrest he briefly worked at a small UMKM selling fried chocolate‑banana snacks (piscok) near Stasiun Pondok Cina. He joined the business about one to one‑and‑a‑half months earlier, took leave on 22 July for a job interview, and quit on 23 July, the day media reported the murder. The shop owner said Saepul showed no abnormal behavior.

Investigators continue to search the Kali Licin stream in Pancoran Mas for the victim’s missing leg fragments, which Saepul said he discarded on 23 July. Joint police teams, including K9 units, have faced strong currents and heavy rain, and the leg pieces have not yet been recovered. The homicide investigation remains ongoing while public attention focuses on the suspect’s online activity and brief employment.
