Dubai tourism and sustainable technology growth

Dubai has reported significant growth in its tourism and hospitality sectors during the first eight months of 2026. Data from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism indicates that hotel revenues exceeded Dh6 billion, supported by 21.61 million occupied room nights and 6.97 million international visitors. The market shows a strong luxury presence, with five-star rooms accounting for 35% of total capacity, while August 2026 saw hotel occupancy reach 66%.

Recreational activity has also increased, with an 18% year-on-year rise in public park footfall reported for the first half of 2026. Growth was noted at Quranic Park and Mushrif National Park, alongside new offerings at Al Mamzar Beaches.

In addition to tourism, the emirate is expanding its focus on sustainable technology. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has scheduled the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference (EV World 2026) for November 10–12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is expected to host over 300 companies and 10,000 specialists to discuss electric and hydrogen-powered mobility.
