Egypt entrepreneurship and technology investment initiatives

Egypt is organizing several major events aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, technology investment, and digital economy growth.

In August 2026, preparations were announced for the third Global Entrepreneurship Festival, scheduled for November 2026 in Cairo. The event seeks to attract over 10,000 participants from more than 70 countries to highlight the role of startups in regional development and cross-border investment. This initiative is supported by a ministerial group intended to drive national economic growth through venture capital and startup support.

Additionally, the Tech Invest Egypt 6 conference was scheduled for September 2026. Organized in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency, the conference focuses on empowering competencies and developing investments. Key discussion topics include artificial intelligence strategies, scaling pathways for startups, and the implementation of personal data protection laws.

Following the conclusion of the ninth annual Tech Invest 6 forum, organized by the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce under the auspices of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi, several recommendations were issued to boost the ICT industry. These include maximizing artificial intelligence to increase productivity, expanding software and outsourcing exports, and enhancing cloud computing and cybersecurity infrastructure.

To improve global competitiveness, participants suggested leveraging TIEC incubator programs and freelance initiatives to train talent, alongside developing data governance frameworks and encouraging investment in data centers. The forum also called for flexible financing mechanisms to assist high-impact startups in transitioning into sustainable, scalable entities.
