Financial performance of AC Milan and Juventus

Overview

Major Italian football clubs AC Milan and Juventus reported net losses for the 2025/26 fiscal year. AC Milan reported a loss of approximately €24 million on revenues of €464.6 million, citing the absence of European competition as a primary factor for a potential €70-80 million income deficit. This marks the first deficit under owner Gerry Cardinale, following three consecutive years of profit. Despite the loss, the club achieved record sponsorship revenue exceeding €100 million and saw increased stadium income from average attendances over 72,000 per match. The deficit is considered contained by a net equity of €176 million.

Juventus reported a larger loss of €66 million, marking its ninth consecutive year of losses and an increase from the €58.1 million loss in the previous period. The club’s revenue decreased by 10.4% to €474.7 million, impacted by lower player transfer proceeds, reduced media rights, and the absence of Club World Cup revenues. While operating costs decreased by €42 million, net debt rose to €331.1 million. The club’s outlook remains pressured by its absence from the Champions League.

To address these financial challenges, the Juventus board proposed a capital increase of up to €250 million to be presented to shareholders on November 3. Majority shareholder Exor has committed to supporting this move, including an immediate advance of €60 million, to strengthen the club’s capital structure and support strategic investments such as Allianz Stadium upgrades.
