Authorities identified slaughter areas that lacked legal permits and failed to meet minimum hygienic-sanitary standards. In addition to the meat, officials confiscated equipment and closed unauthorized cold storage facilities. These procedures were conducted by the General Directorate of Inspection and Control in coordination with the Northwest Rural Patrol to ensure compliance with provincial laws regarding meat industrialization and traceability.

In Ecuador, the National Agency for Regulation, Control, and Sanitary Surveillance (Arcsa) closed an unauthorized sausage factory in Guayaquil. The facility, which operated without permits, was found to have severe sanitary violations, including the presence of cockroaches and improper storage conditions.
