Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza preseason and club news

Overview

Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza has continued its preparations for the 2026-2027 SuperLega season through preseason test matches, roster developments, and commercial activities.

Following initial test matches in September, the club officially presented American spiker Cooper Robinson, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation following surgery on his right knee. The roster was expected to be completed with the arrival of French middle blocker Daniel Iyegbekedo on October 6. The team’s preseason schedule included a joint training session with Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo on October 7 and participation in the Sardinia International Volley Cup, featuring a semifinal against Germany’s SVG Luneburg on October 10.

In mid-October, the club held an event at the former Sant’Agostino church to unveil new match kits for the upcoming season. Designed by Ninesquared and Blend Studio, the uniforms incorporate patterns inspired by Piacenza’s history and Roman origins. The event also introduced the club’s various divisions, including the first team—preparing for its eighth consecutive Superlega Credem Banca season and the CEV Volleyball Cup—as well as the sitting volleyball team and the youth sector.

Additionally, CEO Isabella Cocciolo introduced the ‘Borsa di Crescita’ (Growth Grant), a new initiative for youth sector athletes. The program aims to reward athletic performance alongside academic achievement and personal conduct to emphasize the educational values of sports.
