While sweet cherry yields were strong, sour cherry cultivation has seen a decline, with its cultivation area shrinking by 25.8 percent over the last decade. The sour cherry harvest specifically fell 16.8 percent below the 2016–2025 average.

Regional results varied significantly. Baden-Württemberg, the largest producer of sweet cherries, saw a harvest of 19,100 tons, exceeding its ten-year average by 16.7 percent. Niedersachsen also reported a high yield, with 6,700 tons representing a 66 percent increase over its ten-year average. Conversely, Rheinland-Pfalz recorded 2,000 tons, which is 37.2 percent below its ten-year average.

Key factors contributing to the high yields included mild spring temperatures and reduced frost damage, even though some regions faced summer heat and drought. Additionally, preliminary estimates suggest a strong pear harvest of approximately 40,900 tons, roughly 7.7 percent above the ten-year average.
