Medical experts are emphasizing the necessity of early diagnosis and symptom recognition to combat gynecological cancers, such as ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.

Initial warnings highlight that many cases, particularly ovarian cancer, are detected in advanced stages after spreading. Key symptoms to monitor include persistent bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, urinary changes, unexplained weight loss, and abnormal bleeding. Experts also noted a rising trend in cancer diagnoses among individuals under 50.

Subsequent guidance reinforces that while symptoms should not be ignored, preventive measures are equally vital. Specialists have highlighted the role of HPV vaccines in reducing cervical cancer risks for both men and women, though they emphasize that vaccination must be used alongside regular screenings as complementary approaches to health.

Expanding on these warnings, Associate Professor Murat Yassa of Acıbadem Kartal Hospital has advised that any symptoms lasting longer than two weeks, or those that are unusual, recurring, or increasing in intensity, require immediate medical evaluation. Yassa noted that early detection significantly impacts survival; for example, the five-year survival rate for uterine cancer exceeds 90% when caught early, but drops sharply with later diagnoses. Specifically, approximately 90% of women diagnosed with uterine cancer report postmenopausal bleeding as their first symptom. Other critical indicators include irregular bleeding between periods, persistent bloating, and feeling full quickly after consuming small amounts of food.
