Hankook motorsport tire supply developments

Overview

Hankook is undergoing transitions in its motorsport tire supply partnerships. In Formula E, the company has concluded its four-season tenure as the exclusive tire supplier following the final races in London. The championship will transition to Bridgestone for the upcoming Gen4 era, with Aki Tech established to manage Bridgestone’s logistics.

In rally racing, Hankook has secured a contract as the exclusive tire supplier for the RC2, RC3, and RC4 classes of the Kroon-Oil Belgian Rally Championship for the 2027 through 2029 seasons.

Concurrently, the FIA has adjusted tire regulations for the World Rally Championship. Due to technical challenges involving punctures and delaminations caused by extreme heat and rough terrain during Rally del Paraguay, Rally1 drivers will be permitted an increased allocation of up to 36 tires for Rally Chile, up from the standard 28. This serves as a short-term measure while the FIA and Hankook develop long-term improvements.
