In early July 2026, Hidalgo Governor Julio Menchaca inaugurated three new state facilities—a Directorate General of Road Conservation, a State Machinery Center, and General Warehouses—along with a purchase of 54 vehicles. The projects, costing over 235 million pesos, were intended to reduce office‑rental expenses and improve response capacity, especially in flood‑prone areas.

Later in July, Menchaca announced a broader public‑infrastructure program, allocating more than 25 billion pesos to address a historic backlog across the state’s 84 municipalities. An additional 8.115 billion pesos, jointly funded by state and federal authorities, will be directed to rebuild regions damaged by the October 2025 floods. The announcement was made at a meeting of the Mexican Federation of Civil Engineers Colleges, underscoring a shift from facility inauguration to a large‑scale investment agenda.

On 30 July 2026, Menchaca visited Huazalingo as part of the “Rutas de la Transformación para la Reconstrucción” program. He delivered agricultural equipment—poultry cages, aquaculture kits and pig‑breeding supplies—to 470 producers in Huazalingo, Calnali and Atlapexco, a distribution valued at about 3.4 million pesos. The administration also provided cash‑grant cards to 590 residents (5.9 million pesos) and enrolled 163 women in the “Bienestar de Madres Trabajadoras” program (1.63 million pesos). Infrastructure spending in the area has exceeded 204 million pesos since 2022, covering road, hydraulic and urban works such as the Cuamontax bridge. For 2024, an 85.7 million‑peso rehabilitation of the Tehuetlán–Huazalingo highway was announced, and state officials reported an additional 15.6 million pesos in technical, medical, food and cleaning‑kit assistance for 2026.
