Hitachi AI and data center infrastructure expansion
Overview
Hitachi has expanded its HMAX portfolio, a suite of solutions integrating AI, data, and domain expertise to transform social infrastructure. The expansion includes the “HMAX Data Center” solution for the integrated operation and maintenance of power, IT, and cooling systems, alongside new offerings such as HMAX Cyber, HMAX Data Fabric, and HMAX AI Operations. The company aims to lead in “physical AI” to address labor shortages and industrial complexity.
Following this expansion, Hitachi Systems and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced a partnership to accelerate the deployment of containerized data centers in Japan. This collaboration combines Hitachi Systems’ expertise in design and maintenance with HPE’s GPU server consulting. The partnership aims to reduce deployment times from 12 months to approximately six months and utilizes HPE Financial Services to lower initial capital expenditures through leasing and deferred payment options. The resulting service covers server deployment, Large Language Model (LLM) construction, and automated monitoring.
Expanding its international reach, Hitachi, Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with North American-based Mission Critical Group, LLC (MCG) to focus on data center infrastructure. This strategic partnership aims to expand the “HMAX Data Center” solution suite through joint development and the cross-selling of energy solutions. By integrating Hitachi’s digital and AI analysis technologies into MCG’s modular power equipment, the companies intend to provide services such as predictive maintenance and energy optimization, while leveraging automation to improve manufacturing efficiency to meet growing global demand.
