Human remains discoveries in Argentina

Overview

Authorities in different regions of Argentina have reported the discovery of human remains during various operations. In San Luis, police discovered body parts, including an arm and a hand, in a wooded area west of the La República neighborhood. The discovery occurred during a search operation related to the disappearance of 37-year-old Claudia Andrea Rodríguez, who has been missing since October 3. The discovery reportedly began when a resident noticed a dog carrying what appeared to be a human limb. While authorities have not officially confirmed if the remains belong to Rodríguez, the location coincides with the area where her search was focused. Prosecutor Antonella Córdoba is overseeing the investigation as forensic experts and the Scientific Police work to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death. In Sierra Grande, Río Negro, workers renovating an abandoned service station on National Route 3 found a human skeleton buried under cement. The remains, discovered during remodeling efforts on October 31, were found with hands crossed, feet tied, and the head covered by a bag secured with a dark jacket. Investigators also recovered a prosthetic denture, work boots, and a jacket at the scene, which may assist in identification. Due to the condition of the remains, investigators are not ruling out homicide. Prosecutor Maricel Viotti Zilli is supervising the investigation. Forensic specialists, including a dentist, have transferred the remains to Viedma for autopsy. To assist in identification, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Río Negro is utilizing advanced technology, such as 3D scanning and forensic light systems, to document the scene. Authorities are currently cross-referencing the findings with missing persons records from Sierra Grande, surrounding areas in Río Negro, and the neighboring province of Chubut.
